Who We Are

Women in Technology and Science (WITS) is an active forum supporting women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to reach their full potential through informed choices.

Since 1990 WITS has a proven track record in delivering initiatives that improve the recruitment and retention of women in STEM roles. WITS is also a strong advocate for celebrating the past and current successes of women in STEM: WITS Women in STEM 2016 report, WITS Women in STEM 2015 report and WITS Women in STEM 2014 report.

Members come from a broad range of backgrounds within STEM. WITS members range in age and experience from third level students to some of the country’s most eminent senior academics and business people including those who have retired from the workforce. Individual membership is open to women and men throughout Ireland who are involved in any aspect of science, engineering or technology. Affiliate membership (free during 2016 to celebrate our 25th year in 2015) is available to students. We also have corporate members.

WITS is proud to have Michael D. Higgins, President of Ireland as Patron.
