Choose Tech Information Webinar Registration – 2023/2024 School Year

FIT is hosting two llive Choose Tech Information webinars this August and Sept 2023. The purpose of these webinars is to meet the Choose Tech team and hear more about the free online program Choose Tech, programme updates and events coming up plus the FIT TECH Ambassador Program.

The webinars are on Wednesday the 30th of August 2023 @10am and Wednesday the 13th of September 2023 @12pm

Choose Tech

Choose Tech is a free school program organised by FIT (Fastrack to Information Technology) that seeks to engage young people (15-20 years) in DEIS Schools and Youthreach throughout the country. The aim is to provide further opportunities and links to Tech Apprenticeships, as it will provide a framework for the provision of skilling opportunities for young people with the support of their educators to kick-start their careers in technology. Choose Tech can be used for:

• Special Achievement Task completion for LCA students
• Integrate as part of the School Completion programme (extra curricula or afterschool clubs)
• CPD for Educators
• Mapping Choose Tech modules to curricula and incorporating them into schemes of work (IT, Computing, Science, Maths, PHSE, English, Safeguarding, Biology, Art, Design, Geography)
• Work experience for TY students covering Tech skills and soft skills (online modules)

• Easy and free to register and use.
• Can be easily accessed on laptops, phones, and tablets anywhere.
• Modules are user friendly for students and teachers
• Teachers have access to a back office where they can see the progress of their students
