IWD 2021 campaign theme: #ChooseToChallenge

International Women's Day takes place annually on 8 March, The 2021 theme is #ChooseToChallenge.

A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.

• One of the colours chosen for the day is purple for justice and dignity. That's why WITS chose purple as its colour 30 years ago!!

IWD2021 Events

• UCD Women in STEM are celebrating the day with a Padlet wall. You are invited to post videos, photos, inspirational quotes, cartoons, sketches and much more.
• Ada Lovelace Day is celebrating IWD2021 with Comedy and Communication event @ 7 pm on 8 March 2021. Get your ticket here.
• WIN21Refresh is a half day summit from the Women Inspire Network on 8 March 2021. Tickets are €20 + VAT. Mary Mitchell O'Connor will be sharing her advice on how to get your voice heard in the boardroom.
• Women in Research Ireland (WIRI) have a great series of events for IWD2021. Great to see the Celebrating Irish Scientists in the Global COVID-19 Response event with Trinity Women Graduates on 8 March 2021 @ 6 pm. Book your place.
