Mylan Galway celebrated International Women's Day 2019

Sandra Riordan writes:

We celebrated International Women's Day in style last week at Mylan Galway. In the run up to Friday 8th March, every building of Mylan Galway's two sites were brought to life with colourful posters of global STEM women role models. We posted numerous links from WITS Ireland and The Irish Times to honour Ireland’s Outstanding Women.

On the day, had a coffee morning to promote discussion of International Women’s Day, using two booklets we made on the Global STEM Role Models and Outstanding Irish Women to enhance the conversation. We had some games to recognise International Women. For our nominated charity of the year, Galway Autism Partnership, we had a cake sale alongside our coffee morning and we asked the men to bake cakes for the charity cake sale in honour of IWD. We raised over €450.

To top it off, we raffled 6 copies of "We Summit Together: A Collection of Empowering Stories by Empowered Women." by Donna Kennedy and Co-Authors. One story was written by a Mylan Dublin colleague, Jennifer Clarke. We were delighted to promote this book and to give copies away on International Womens Day.

All in all, we celebrated women's achievements and opened up a conversation, which we can return to again and again.
