Young women play a key role in the movement for women’s rights and in shaping this country’s feminist future. As the NWCI celebrates 50 years of NWC history and imagine our feminist future, NWCI is inviting young women from its group members to join their new Youth Advisory Panel.
What is the NWCI Youth advisory panel?
The Youth Advisory Panel will be made up of young women aged 18- 25 who are passionate about advancing women’s equality in Ireland. NWC has set up this panel in order to:
• Increase the participation and representation of young women in NWC,
• Ensure the voices and experiences of young women inform our work.
What will the panel do?
• Inform NWC’s advocacy and campaigning work,
• Amplify young women’s voices in NWC, and
• Empower young women to become feminist leaders.
Who are the NWCI looking for?
Young women from our member groups aged 18-25 from across the island and from intersecting identities. This group will benefit from a diversity of experiences, with young women of all backgrounds & localities represented ie. rural/urban areas, members of the Traveller community, socioeconomic status, disabled women, diversity of ethnicity and LGBTQ+ Inclusive. NWCI strongly encourages young women, particularly from diverse backgrounds and under-represented groups including ethnic minority groups and disabled people.
